What is the WCVBA?

The West Coast Volleyball Association is a league formed by a collective of clubs in the Northern California and Northern Nevada areas. The goal of the WCVBA is to provide

“[…] professionalism, transparency, and first-class service to the northern California and Nevada volleyball communities through competitive leagues and events.”

Their focus is to create and maintain a healthy, competitive experience while effectively communicating, providing quality facilities, paid officials, and offering competitive tournament formats. They are a member focused and member driven organization.

Why has UC ELITE decided to join the WCVBA for the club season?

1. The venues are secured and referees are guaranteed!

UC ELITE strives to give all teams and members the best club experience as possible. Therefore, we believe all club teams deserve to have their matches reffed by a professional official in order to maintain fairness and receive the best quality of play/competition.

In addition, we make it one of our priorities to be as organized as possible. The WCVBA guarantees secured venues, format and schedules in advance to help families accommodate their schedules/travel accordingly.

2. The Main League Tournaments do not conflict with National Qualifiers.

National Qualifiers are some of the biggest tournaments during the club season and require extensive travel. We understand that constant travel can be exhausting on both parents and athletes, however — we believe that the cluster of these league tournaments will make travel/scheduling easier on our families.

In addition, with league tournaments being less frequent - it allows teams to attend more National Qualifiers during the club season.

3. The WCVBA is “RUN BY CLUBS, FOR CLUBS”.

Each member of the WCVBA Board of Directors holds an administrative role at their respective and well-established club. Therefore, they acquire a great amount of experience and have a well-understanding about the operations required to run/maintain a high-level, quality, and competitive club.

What other clubs compete in the WCVBA?

The clubs that have joined this new league have been some of the top clubs within the NCVA Power League region — City Beach, Encore, Empire, MVVC, NorCal, NNJ, OMNI Volleyball, Rage Westside, SF Elite, SynergyForce, Xceleration, and more.

Does the wcvba offer other tournaments?

Yes. The WCVBA hosts their own events which include the Nor Cal Winter Classic, President’s Day Showdown, and Spring Challenge.

will uc elite STILL attend ncva/USAV/AAU tournaments?

Yes. Certain UC ELITE Club Teams will still be attending NCVA/USAV/AAU Tournaments during the club season. However, all club teams will have different tourmament schedules — so this may only be an option for selective teams.
