Dana graduated from James Logan High School in 2010 and was a part of Logan's Girls Volleyball Program for four years. During her three years playing at the Varsity Level, she was a starting opposite hitter and occasional middle blocker.

She began her coaching career as a voluntary assistant to the Girl's Volleyball team at Alvarado Middle School during the 2011 and 2013 season. Since 2013, she has returned to the place where her volleyball career flourished and coaches Logan's JV Girl's Volleyball team. In her two seasons with the Lady Colts, Coach Dana and her team maintained consecutive league records of 10-4. She has also been a part of Logan's Summer Camp Program for the last three summers.

Dana graduated with honors from San Jose State University in 2014. She received her B.A. in Sociology and minor in Radio-Television-Film. As of Fall 2015 she is in pursuit of an M.A. in Communication Studies - Telecommunications and Film Option.
