Alana is a graduate of James Logan HS where she was a 4-year starting setter on the varsity volleyball team. She is a 4-time MVAL 1st-team all league setter and was voted team MVP her junior and senior year. She is a 2-time team captain and led James Logan to an undefeated MVAL league title and an NCS Semi-final berth in 2015. Alana finished her senior year voted as the MVAL league MVP and received 3rd-team all East Bay honors. Alana continues her volleyball career at the NCAA level and is currently the starting setter for the UC Santa Cruz Women's Volleyball Team. She joins UC ELITE as a clinic and camp coach with a focus in setter development.
Joe is a graduate of James Logan HS where he played volleyball for 4 years with 3 years at the varsity level. He played as a starting libero his sophomore and senior year while also playing as the starting setter his junior year. During his sophomore year, Joe helped guide James Logan to their 1st undefeated MVAL league title and NCS Semi-final berth in over 10 years. During his HS career, he received MVAL all league honors as a setter and libero, while being selected 1st-team all league libero his senior year. He was also voted team MVP his junior year and Co-MVP by his teammates his senior year. Joe is currently studying architectural engineering as Cal Poly SLO. He joins UC ELITE as a summer camp and clinic coach.
Kiana graduated from James Logan High School in 2014 where she played Libero/DS for 2 years at the varsity level. As a co-captain and starting Libero her senior year, Kiana helped lead the Colts to the NCS Quarter-finals. She was also named defensive MVP by her team and received MVAL 2nd Team All League as a Libero. Kiana is currently attending Ohlone College.
Coach Leon has experience working with players of all ages. He is the current head coach at John Muir Middle School, head coach for Frosh team and Varsity assistant coach at San Leandro High School. He has played almost every position in high school, and excelled as an outside and opposite hitter. His volleyball philosophy is to "teach and work our players hard in skill development in a FUN and healthy environment."

From 2010-2014, Minh attended the University of Southern California (USC) and served as student manager and statistician for both the Women’s and Men’s teams. He worked alongside current USC head coaches Bill Ferguson (Men’s) and Mick Haley (Women’s), who was the U.S. Women’s National team head coach at the 2000 Olympics. He’s also worked with numerous collegiate players who have gone on to play professionally and internationally. In 2013, Minh served as an assistant coach for Club Troy’s 17-2 girl’s team. In previous years, Minh has returned to James Logan High School as a volunteer coach for both the boys and girls teams and summer camps. As a player, he was a four-year varsity setter for James Logan from 2007-2010, becoming the starting setter as a sophomore and captaining the team during his junior and senior years. He led Logan to the NCS playoffs in his sophomore and senior years, earning MVAL First Team honors in his final year.

Coach Randell returns for his 3rd girl's season with UC ELITE. Randell graduated from Antioch High School in 2011. During his time at Antioch, Randell was the varsity team's starting Libero. In his senior year, he helped his team place second in the BVAL and received All-League honors. Randell started his coaching career at Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward as the Boys JV Head Coach in 2014. The following season, he took on the role as Varsity Head Coach. In his first year coaching varsity, he lead the Mariners to a first overall seed in the Division III NCS Playoffs and won the NCS Division 3 championships for the 2015 season. This was Moreau Catholic's first NCS Championship since 2008. Randell also lead Moreau Catholic to their first NorCal Championship berth in school history. Coach Randell is currently the girls' head JV coach and boys' varsity head coach at James Logan High School.

Coach Andrew graduated from James Logan High School in 2012. Throughout his high school career, he began as a DS/libero and eventually developed into a MVAL 1st team all-league outside hitter. After high school, Andrew was presented with the opportunity to come back to his high school to coach both the boys and girls JV teams as well as assisting Matt Guzman at varsity level. Andrew was also the 1st CYO 8th grade girls volleyball coach at St. Anne Parish in Union City. He lead the 8th grade team to their 1st Oakland Diocese Championship appearance. Andrew later took on a coaching position at the middle school level, where he was able to take the IVCMS 6/7th grade girls team to a Championship in 2016. In addition, he has experience coaching for various clubs around the Bay Area up until the creation of UC ELITE in 2014. Coach Andrew plans to continue coaching and passing along his passion for the game here in the East Bay area. In 2017, Andrew assisted the James Logan girls volleyball team to the CIF Division 1 State Championships. Andrew will continue as the assistant coach for the James Logan High School girls Varsity Team.
Taylor is a James Logan alumni where she played 3 years on the varsity team as a defense specialist. She was also a team co-captain her senior year. Taylor is currently attending San Francisco State and studying Nursing.
Ted is new to the UC Elite family, but he is very excited to be coaching and working with Matt and the UC Elite coaching staff. He has been coaching all levels of volleyball from middle school level to high school teams since 1997, he has also created his own business around recreational volleyball programs and has been running these programs in multiple cities since 2003. He also ran his own club from 2003 to 2018. He has decided to shift his focus towards his expanding recreational programs and decided not to run his club teams this year, but he still loves coaching club volleyball and is looking forward to coaching one of the teams at UC Elite. His focus as a coach has always been to help players set goals and to help them work towards those goals no matter what level the player is or how old they may be.
Coach Conan graduated from Moreau Catholic High School in 2014. He played all 4 years as the starting outside hitter on varsity. He earned 2nd team all-league outside hitter his sophomore year and going on to earn 1st team all-league honors his junior and senior years. He then went on to play 2 years at Holy Names University at the NCAA Division II level as a starting outside hitter. In his freshman year at Holy Names earned Freshman of the Year honors. Having graduated now from Holy Names University with a degree in Business Management, he has coached at 2 other volleyball clubs before joining UC Elite. Coach Conan looks to inspire players much like many of his coaches inspired him to continue to play volleyball. He also looks to share his experience and pass on his knowledge and passion for volleyball on to up and coming players joining UC Elite.
Coach Daron graduates from Moreau Catholic High School in 2014. He played all four years with three years on Varsity as the starting middle blocker. He earned honorable mention his sophomore year and 2nd team all-league middle blocker in his junior and senior year. In college Coach Daron played two years at Holy Names University at the NCAA Division II level as a starting middle blocker. He graduated from Holy Names University with a BA in Criminology, then coached two seasons at Absolute Volleyball Club in San Rafael. He recently acquired his American Council of Exercise (ACE) Certification in Personal Training and currently coaches Girl’s Volleyball at Piedmont High School for all three levels. Joining UC Elite as a volleyball and strength and conditioning coach, he is looking forward to contributing to the growth of the club and sharing his passion for volleyball and fitness with the next generation of East Bay volleyball players.
Jessica graduated from James Logan High School in 2017 where she played middle and opposite hitter as a starter for 4 years at the varsity level. She was second team all League as a hitter and became co-captain her senior year. Jessica helped lead the Lady Colts to back to back undefeated MVAL League Championships and NCS D1 semifinal appearances in 2015 & 2016. At Cal Poly Pomona she worked for the Intramural Sports program and was in charge of training officials for the volleyball leagues. Jessica is now studying at San Jose State University as a Kinesiology major.
